Fr. Francis Michael Mabboux was a zealous man and a keen educationist. He foresaw the growing importance of Nagpur and decided to open the school. He was our first Principal from 1870 to 1873. |

Fr. Maurice Victor Domenge took charge from Fr. Mabboux and was Principal from 1873 to 1875. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Charles Felix Pelvat was appointed as a teacher in S.F.S. He became principal in 1875 and was so till 1891. He was well known as a specialist in Science, Maths and Literature as also the life member of the then Govt. Committee of Education. He was Bishop from 1893 to 1900. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Etieme Marie Bonaventure became Principal from 1891 to 1894. Being talented and outgoing man, he was popular among his friends for his charming ways. He was also Bishop from 1904 to 1907. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Francis Stephan Coppel had a B.A. in French and a degree of Bachelor of Science from Lyon, France. In those days it was quite an achievement. He became Principal of S.F.S. at the age of 27! He held office from 1894 to 1907. He was bishop for 25 long years from 1907 to 1933. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Louis Dufresne was brilliant in studies and was crowned with a master of Arts degree at the University of Lyon in France. Tall and slim, he wore with ease an air of natural dignity. He was Principal for two tenures, first from 1907 to 1915 and later from 1919 to 1927. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Carlo Casimir Fernandes was born at Calangute Goa, Thus becoming the First Indian born Principal of the School. He passed his matric and F.A. Exam. At S.F.S School. He also had thus the credit of becoming the 1st Ex- Student Principal of the School. Appointed teacher in S.F.S. in 1905 he was Principal from 1915 to 1919. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Joseph Gros was associated with S.F.S from the time of his Seminary. He was a science teacher and the prefect of discipline. Then he became Principal from 1927 to 1937 taking over charge from Fr. Dufresne. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Edmond Deage was appointed teacher in S.F.S. In 1936 He became principal at the age of 28! He was appointed member of the faculty of Arts of Nagpur University and delegate to the national Committee of Anglo Indian Education- He was Principal from 1937 to 1951. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Francis D' Souza became principal of S.F.S. taking charge from Fr. Deage. He became the first principal of S.F.S. after the school was handed over to the diocesan clergy. He was Principal from 1951 to 1954. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Gerson Mascaren has held office of the principal of S.F.S. from 1954 to 1956. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Cecil De Sa became the second Ex-Student principal of S.F.S. From 1956 to 1960. He was teacher in S.F.S. and the prefect of discipline before he became Principal. He is presently Archbishop of Agra. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Mathew Fernandes became Principal taking charge from Fr. De Sa in 1960. With him is the credit of becoming the third ex-student Principal, He held office for two tenures from 1960 to 1969 and later from 1970 to 1976. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. George Vaz was the principal with the smallest tenure of 9 months in the year 1969. He took charge from Fr. Mathew. He had the Master's degree in Philosophy. He became the fourth ex-student Principal of the school. He was a good sportsman and champion Athlete of the A' division in the School. Earlier he was also the prefect of studies in the school. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Oswald D'Souza took charge from Fr. Mathew. A Post Graduate in Psychology he held office from 1976 to 1982. Earlier he was a teacher in S.F.S. And in charge of games, Sports and boarding. | |||||||||||||||||
Fr. Maurice Fernandes. He took charge from Fr. Oswald D'Souza in 1982. His tenure was from 1982 to 1995. A post graduate in English Literature, he had a vast experience in managing schools being principal in other schools for nine years before coming to S.F.S.. Earlier however he was a teacher in S.F.S. as the prefect of studies and also the prefect of discipline for seven years. | |||||||||||||||||
Rev. F. Ivan Lobo. The present Principal hailing from Bandra Bombay, now known as Mumbai. Fr. Ivan did his early schooling at the reputed Jesuit St. Stanislaus School, and came to S.F.S, in Nagpur in 1956. A bright student and talented speaker, singer, dancer and actor, he passed his Senior Cambridge from S.F.S in 1961. Thereafter he joined the St. Charles Seminary on the hill for his priestly training and studies in Philosophy and Theology under the Dominican Fathers from Ireland. During this period he graduated from the local S.F.S college in 1966, and also obtained a Bachelor of Divinity Degree from Angelicum University, Rome. He was ordained priest on October 18, 1970, and the following year joined the Staff of S.F.S School, which celebrated it's Centenary that December. While teaching, he completed his B.Ed from Bombay University, in 1974, and M.A (English Literature) in 1980 from Nagpur University. Vice-Principal of S.F.S from 1981, he took over the reins of the school as Principal on November 1, 1995, just when the school concluded the 125-year celebrations, and his Silver Jubilee of priesthood. His first project as Principal was the introduction of classes in Computer - Science for V to X class students, with the transformations of two old rooms into modern Computer labs, well equipped.
